The Club Handicap Championships were held at Gold Close on Saturday 19th August.
Blustery conditions with some lovely sunny periods saw the Club Handicap Competition rattled off in fine form with people shooting their preferred round, long or short Westerns (it is, after all, the handicap competition).
Imogen Bannister beat everyone by a mile, despite suffering the most spectacular destruction of an ACC that I have ever seen, beating Sue Humberston into second and Pete Dowling, third. Also gaining her second Bowman score – Go Imogen!
Well done all!
As always, a very pleasant afternoon. Full results are on the Results page.
Another hugely enjoyable but highly controversial DBAC Annual Field Shoot was held on Sunday 4th June at Forest Bowmen’s Codnor woods site. Last year, the 10 Point Crocodile Bonus was hotly disputed (by those who missed it) and this year controversy erupted over just what constituted the Kill Zone on a Zombie, which as any fool knows is the head! The weather was kind, the woods were beautiful, the course fun and entertaining and the club paid our fees! A huge thank you to Forest Bowmen for hosting us on what is one of the most enjoyable events of the DBAC calendar. Full results here.

On her way back from the event, Holly sent us a trip report to fill us in:
[I’m] In the airport on my way back home from the European Youth Cup in Greece and thought it was a good time to give you all a idea on how my trip went.
I’ve been working on a lot of technique changes lately so this trip was mainly about testing those changes under pressure and I’m really pleased with how I shot. The conditions were difficult and sometimes really windy so I had to learn how to judge the changing wind.
