Eva travelled to Romania this month to compete in the European Youth Championships as part of the British team. Competing in the Recurve Cadet Womens Team were Eva Henderson-Hirst, Eleanor Piper and Alyssia Tromans-Ansell. The GB team were drawn against the Italians in the semi-finals. They put up a valiant fight against the Italians, who went on to win the championship gold, but were eventually beaten 6-0. Still in with a chance to win a medal, they were drawn against the Spanish team for in the Bronze medal match. They managed to pull out all the stops and swept to victory without dropping a point, winning 6-0.
Well done to Eva and the rest of the team.
From DBAC Facebook Page:
We are really proud of all the young athletes that represented the Derbyshire County archery team today at the SYDNEY Bond tournament. The recurve team finished fourth and we won with the compound team. Hollie Smith shot a new national record for the Bristol Three and walked away with the trophies for highest ladies score. Lewis Haslam took the highest scoring gents trophy and Sarah Moon broke a county and EMAS record, as well of most of the team setting new PBs. Well done all.

Eva won her place at the GB selection shoot 2 weeks ago to represent GB at the Junior European Championships in Bucharest, Romania. The comp starts on July 17th.
Eva shot extremely well at the selection shoot among a very strong group of girls, for 1 of 3 places available in the cadet girl category. The first day was a 60m 720 ranking round in which Eva achieved a competition PB of 624 to rank 2nd, there was then a cut of the top 8. Each of the 8 then having to shoot against each other in 7 round robin head to head matches. At the end of a rainy day 1 with all the scores giving an accumulative total, Eva was in 1st place. 2 of our trusty members get Married.
Rachael Maddison & Mark Smalley.
They have been good, and fun friends with many of us for around 12 years.
They finally noticed the sparkle in each other’s eyes maybe 6 years ago, at Chatsworth country fair.
( I think it was Mark’s prowess with his poi swinging, mating dance that clinched it)
I would like to wish these 2 lovely people
All The Happiness in the world, for their future as
Mr & Mrs Smalley.
I offer a toast to you both.
Best of luck guys,
